Alton Pond is a private, seven acre spring-fed pond surrounded by trees and a beautiful earthen dam. The pond is the headwater of the Fay Brook, which flows into the White River, and ultimately into the Connecticut River, ending in the Atlantic Ocean. Our pond is home to otter, a variety of ducks, geese, turtles, large-mouth bass and an occasional eagle.
In the summer months, a large floating dock is the perfect place to dangle your feet in the water, start your swim, or watch the sunset or stars.
Children and adventurous adults love the floating trampoline and lily pad, only a short swim from the dock. (Hint: It’s also great for star-gazing after the kids are in bed.)

Right outside the Cabin, you’ll find boats for exploring, including three kid's kayaks, two adult paddle boards, a 2-person kayak, a canoe, a row boat, and life jackets for nearly every size.
The pond and boats are shared by visiting friends and neighbors.
Behind the pond lies 70 forested acres for your exploring. The hike around the Pond to “Dirtee Paw Stream” is especially fun in the late summer and fall when mushroom bloom like flowers, and children love splashing around in Fay Brook.

In the winter, the truly brave can snow shoe across the pond, or just sit by the fire and watch the wild turkeys crossing. We neighbor the VAST snowmobile and cross country ski trail system.
